Annual Food Drive at HPE
A HUSKY STRONG student helps those in need.
This week, students at HPE had their annual food drive. To kick off our focus on the Circle of Courage quadrant of GENEROSITY, students brought in 1517 non-perishable food items for our local Armstrong Food Bank, a whopping 1397 lbs of food. Our generous PAC committed to providing three pizza lunches to the classes that brought in the most items in grade 4/5, grade 2/3 and grade k/1/2. While we are all winners through participating in this community initiative, I’m pleased to announce that Mr. Hazlewood’s grade 4 class contributed the most items for the grade 4/5 category (304 to be exact), Ms. Kalf’s grade 2 class contributed the most items for the grade 2/3 category (95 to be exact) and Ms. Sandberg’s kindergarten class contributed the most items for the k/1/2 category (234 to be exact). More information about when the pizza lunches will be provided for these three classes will be forthcoming. Thank you Highland Park Huskies! Whoo – Ah!
