CAREER FAIR for HPE students – last call for approved volunteers

Approved volunteers needed! Our Career Fair scheduled in the morning of Friday, February 7, 2025 is fast approaching. If you are an approved volunteer and interested in sharing your career with our students, please contact the office by Friday, January 17th. We need your help to make this event an inspiring experience for our students.

Since our initial email at the end of November, we have 6 volunteers signed up, but we’re still looking for more participants to help showcase a variety of jobs and careers.

Please don’t think your role isn’t interesting or valuable—students are eager to hear about all kinds of work. Whether you’re in trades, technology, health care, the arts, education, business, or any other field, your experience will provide a meaningful window into the world of work, an important goal we have for our students.

The best part? This is a low-preparation opportunity:

• Simply show up with an item from work that students might find interesting to look at or learn about.
• Be ready to say a few words to introduce yourself and your job.
• Answer students’ questions about what you do, how you got there, and why it’s important.

The format is show-and-tell style, with groups of students rotating through for short 10–15-minute sessions. We’re aiming for 14 presenters to give students a broad range of perspectives on the world of work. We are hoping to find 8 more presenters.
