Cross Country Running 2026

Hello Highland Park Huskies!

We are excited to announce that Cross Country Running will get started at HPE next week. A big thank you to Mr. Benge for coordinating this opportunity for our students in grade 1 - 5. Mr. Byrnes and Mrs. Cull will assist with practices as needed. Students in grades 3, 4 and 5, are asked to go to Mr. Benge's room at the beginning of eating time with their lunch and water bottles, wearing appropriate footwear for running. Students in grades 1 and 2, are asked to meet Mr. Benge at the flag pole at the front of the school with their lunches and water bottles at the beginning of eating time, wearing appropriate footwear for running.

Students who attend practice regularly will be able to compete in the Cross Country Run at Armstrong Elementary School on Monday, April 27 and at the Little Mountain Stomp in Salmon Arm on April 29. Permission forms to attend these runs will be given to our regular runners by Mr. Benge.

The following will be practice days:

Tuesday, April 7th - grades 4 and 5

Wednesday, April 8th - grades 2 and 3

Thursday, April 9th - no practice

Friday, April 10th - grades 3, 4 and 5

Monday, April 13th - grades 3, 4 and 5

Tuesday, April 14th - grades 1 and 2

Wednesday, April 15th - grades 3,4 and 5

Thursday, April 16th - grades 1 and 2

Friday, April 17th - grades 3, 4 and 5

Tuesday, April 21st - grades 3, 4 and 5

Wednesday, April 22nd - grades 1 and 2

Thursday, April 23rd - grades 3, 4 and 5
