HPE Career Fair – Friday, February 7
On the morning of Friday, February 7, we will have many guests at our school rotating throughout our classrooms K-5 to present about their career choice. Guests will visit classes (on a rotation) for approximately 10 minutes to briefly tell and show a little something to raise awareness of their chosen career from about 8:15 – 11:15ish for grade 3 – 5. For grade k-2, this will be abbreviated to just the first part of the morning 8:15 – 9:25. This initiative has been planned to help support student learning in the area of Career Education, one of our many school goals. It is our hope that students will develop a greater awareness of the many career options available. We had an overwhelming response to our call out for presenters and are excited about the variety of career presentations the students will get to experience. The goal is AWARENESS, not to dive deep into any one particular career, however, we are hoping this may spark interest within our students to learn more. We have approximately 17 presenters who indicated interest. Career options students will learn about will include some of the following: Mechanical Engineer, Civil Engineer, Veterinary Technician, Medical Radiation Technician, Nurse, Red Seal Carpenter, Red Seal Iron Worker, Electrician, Powerline Technician, Esthetician, Long Term Facility Manager, IPE Manager, Human Resources Officer, Fire Fighter and a Zamboni Driver, to name a few. I know our students will be excited to see a Fire Truck and a Zamboni at our school for the event as well. We thank all our presenters very much for taking this time to educate our students about career options.
