Informal Learning Update #2 - April 30, 2026

RE: INFORMAL LEARNING UPDATE - THURSDAY, APRIL 30, 2026
This notice is intended for families with children in classes where the teacher has opted to do student-led conferences as their second informal learning update. If your child’s classroom teacher has opted to provide a different format, you would have been notified through classroom communication earlier in the school.
Student Led Conferences create an opportunity for students to share their learning with their parents/guardians. This conference is student led and will be between the child and their parent(s)/guardian(s) to celebrate the learning that has occurred so far this school year. The goal is for children to communicate about their learning and to celebrate their accomplishments. If you have concerns regarding your child’s learning or progress, please ensure that these are expressed to your child’s classroom teacher at a different time.
Conferences will take place on Thursday, April 30th. This will be an open house format with no scheduled appointments. Having said that families should plan to attend each of their children’s classroom (with their child) for approximately 20 minutes. If you are unable to attend this day, please contact your child’s teacher so alternate arrangements can be made and an informal learning update can be provided. Our open house will start at 2:30 pm and will end at 4:30 pm. Please ensure you arrive by 4:05 pm at the latest. Students are asked to follow their usual afterschool plan and return to school with their parent/guardian when conferences begin at 2:30 pm.
As this is meant to be a special time for each child and their parent, we strongly encourage you to find child minding for any non school aged siblings. School aged siblings will have child minding available during conference times with staff and or approved volunteers (2:30 – 4:30 pm). We ask that school aged siblings stay in a child minding space until they are picked up by their parent. This will ensure that your child will have your undivided attention for the conference. J We ask that children not be left on our playground unsupervised.
