Students and staff at HPE are invited to wear PINK in support of the annual Anti-Bully Awareness Day on Wednesday, February 26. At a recent whole school assembly we talked about the importance of standing up and speaking out in support of others who might be experiencing unwanted, unkind or bullying behaviours to help them feel safe at school. We focused on ways to be an UPSTANDER when unwanted, unkind or bullying behaviours are noticed. Being an UPSTANDER means to stand up not stand by. Students learned they can show UPSTANDING behaviour by being a buddy, interrupting, speaking out, and reporting it to someone. CLICK HERE to watch the UPSTANDER video at home.
